BY-LAW NO. 3036
A By -Law to establish the number of Elected Members on Council
WHEREAS Section 29(3) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990 as amended provides that
Council may pass a by-law changing the number of its elected members.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg is desirous of changing the
number of elected members on Tillsonburg Council to take effect for the Municipal
Election in the year 2003.
AND WHEREAS public notice was given that this matter would be considered at a
meeting held October 15th, 2002 at which time direction was given to bring forward this
by-law.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg enacts
as follows:
1. Effective for the Municipal Election in the year 2003, the Council of the
Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg shall be composed of the Mayor, the
Deputy Mayor and 5 other elected Councilors.
2. All members of Council specified in Paragraph 1 shall be elected by General
Vote
3. This by-law is passed pursuant to Section 29 of The Municipal Act, Chapter
M.45 R.S.O. 1990, as amended and shall come into force and effect upon
enactment.
4. By -Law No. 2929 is hereby repealed.
