BY-LAW NO. 3003
BEING A BY-LAW TO REGULATE AND GOVERN THE USE OF
MOTORIZED SNOW VEHICLES IN THE TOWN OF TILLSONBURG
WHEREAS authority is granted to the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg by Section 7
of The Motorized Snow Vehicles Act R.S.O. 1990, to Pass by-laws to regulate, govern or
prohibit the operation of motorized snow vehicles within the municipality.
BE IT THER XORE ENACTED by the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg as
Follows:
1. (a) No person shall d=rive or operate a motorized snow vehicle within the meaning of
the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act, R.S.O. 1990, within the limits of the Town of
Tillsonburg betwe-en the hours of 11:00 P.M. in the afternoon of one day and
7 A.M. in the forenoon of the next.
(b) Notwitr.standing paragraph 1 (a), a person returning to his or her place of
residence from outside the limits of the Town of Tillsonburg, may proceed by the
shortest and most direct route without loitering and provided no more than two
such vehicles are in a group.
2. No person shall drive a motorized snow vehicle within the meaning of Motorized
Snow Vehicles Al. t, R.S.O. 1990, upon any Sidewalk or Pedestrian Walkway
at anytime.
3. Application may be made to the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg for
suspension of the provisions of paragraph 1 above for a period not exceeding two
days at any one time during organized sports events.
4. Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Act or the regulations
is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine not exceeding $1,000.
5. The ow-aer of a motorized snow vehicle may be charged with and convicted
of an offence under this Act or the regulations or any municipal by-law
regulating, governing or prohibiting the operation of motorized snow vehicles,
for which the driver of the motorized snow vehicle, is subject to be charged
unless, at the time of the offence, the motorized snow vehicle was in the
posses:;ion of a person other than the owner without the owner's consent and on
conviction the owner is liable to the penalty prescribed for the offence. R.S.O.

6. The court in which the conviction has been entered or any court of competent
Jurisdiction thereafter, may make an order prohibiting the continuation or
repetition of the offence by the person convicted and such order shall be in
addition to any other penalty imposed on the person convicted.

7. By-law #1868 and all its amendments are hereby repealed.
8. This By-law shall come into force and effect upon final passing.
