A BY -LAW to restrict vehicular through-traffic at the uorth limit of the Welding Street
right-of-way in the Town of Tillsonburg
WHEREAS Sections 5 and 9 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended,
provides that the powers of the Municipal Council shall be exercised by By-Law, unless the
municipality is specifically authorized to do so otherwise and that the municipality has the
capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its
authority;
AND WHEREAS Section 27 of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended,
authorizes a municipality to pass by-laws in respect of a highway over which it has jurisdiction;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to restrict vehicular through-traffic at the north limit of
the Welding Street Right-of-Way in order to address ongoing public safety concerns and to
support the recommendation of the Conceptual Master Plan for Memorial Park and Lake Lisgar.
NOW THEREFORE the Council ofthe Corporation of the Town ofTillsonburg hereby enacts
as follows:
I. That vehicle through-traffic restricting mechanisms be installed at the north limit of the
Welding Street Right-of-Way and that the diagram attached hereto as Schedule A forms part
of this by-law.
2. That this By-Law shall come into full force and effect on the date of final passage thereof.
