5. General Business
5.1. Annual Review of the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
The Deputy Clerk made note that an annual review of the Multi-Year
Accessibility Plan is required at this time. Committee members were asked to
review the plan and bring any recommendations or proposed amendments to
the next meeting for discussion.
5.2. Accessibility Recognition Award – Local Businesses
Discussion took place regarding the implementation of an Accessibility
Recognition Award for local businesses. Councillor Stephenson suggested

that the Chamber of Commerce be contacted to see if the award could be
presented during the Chamber’s Annual Award Ceremony in May.

THAT staff be directed to contact the Tillsonburg Chamber of Commerce to
seek permission to participate in the annual Award Ceremony to recognize a
local business which has gone above and beyond in making their business
more accessible to the public.

5.3. 2016 Meeting Schedule
The Committee reviewed the draft 2016 Meeting Schedule.

5.4. Committee Vacancies
The Deputy Clerk made note that notice of vacancies on the Accessibility
Advisory Committee will be posted in the March 9 and March 16, 2016 editions
of the Tillsonburg News within the Tillsonburg Update section and information
has been posted on the Town website. The deadline for applications is March
21, 2016.
5.5. Terms of Reference
The Deputy Clerk circulated a copy of the 2014-2018 Terms of Reference
(TOR) for the Committee. Members were asked to review the TOR and bring
any suggestions and/or proposed amendments to the next meeting for
discussion.
6. Correspondence
6.1. Oxford County Accessibility Meeting - March 22, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.,
Oxford County Administrative Building
The Oxford County Accessibility Advisory Committee has extended an
invitation for the upcoming Accessibility Event on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at
1:30 p.m. Constable Vanleeuwen will be making a presentation on “New &
Emerging Vehicles” and there will be an informal discussion regarding
potential collaborative efforts following the presentation.

7. New Business
7.1. Audible Signals
Councillor Stephenson spoke with the Director of Operations regarding
additional information on costs for the installation of audible signals at the
crossing in front of the mall and will report back to the committee when this
information is available.
7.2. Transportation Pilot Program
Councillor Stephenson noted that a new (9-person) accessible van has been
purchased as part of the Community Transportation Pilot Program, which will
be available for bookings shortly.
8. Next meeting
The next meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee will be Wednesday,
April 13, 2016 at 3 p.m.
