4017 To adopt the Delegation of Powers and DutiesTHE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF TILLSON BURG BY-LAW NUMBER 4017 A By-Law to adopt the Delegation of Powers and Duties Policy. WHEREAS Section 270 (1) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25, provides that a municipality shall adopt and maintain a policy with respect to the delegation of its powers and duties. AND WHEREAS Section 23.1 (1) of the Act further provides that a municipality may "delegate its powers and duties under this or any other Act to a person or body" subject to certain restrictions. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg wishes to delegate powers which are considered minor in nature, subject to specified criteria, to municipal employees; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Tillson burg enacts as follows: 1. THAT the Town of Tillsonburg Delegation of Powers and Duties Policy attached hereto as "Schedule A" is hereby adopted and forms part of this by-law. 2. AND THAT this by-law comes into force and effect upon passing. Read a First and Second Time this glh day of May, 2016.
