5. Delegations & Presentations
5.1. Community Transportation Pilot Project Update
Presented By: John Preston
Mr. Preston made note of two new programs as part of the Community
Transportation Pilot Project, including the Taxi Bus service for Seniors and
Workers and the Regional Rideshare program. Both services are to be in
place by January 31, 2016.

A centralized coordinated scheduling/dispatch operation is also being looked
into at this time.
Councillor Stephenson recommended to Mr. Preston, that the residents of
Lisgar Heights also be approached about the Taxi Bus program.
Scot Richardson inquired about the use of taxi ridership statistics to allow for a
more targeted approach to the programs offered.
Mr. Preston indicated that the Community Transportation Pilot Steering
Committee is looking at ways to expand upon the project to provide additional
transportation options to residents.
6. General Business
6.1. Audible Signals
Councillor Stephenson indicated that Council did not approve the budget
request of $45,000 per set for audible signals. Council has directed staff to
report back with a cost estimate for a set of audible signals at the crossing in
front of the Library.
6.2. Curb Cuts on Broadway
Motion: Mike Cerna Seconded By: Scott Richardson
THAT staff consider the installation of curb cuts near the wheelchair parking
spaces on Broadway.

7. Correspondence
7.1. David C. Onley Award for Leadership in Accessibility – Deadline
December 3, 2015
Tricia Smith, Deputy Clerk made note of the approaching deadline for
nominations for the David C. Onley Award. The committee was asked to
keep in mind potential nominees for the 2017 award program and submit their
recommendations to the Deputy Clerk.
7.2. Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure –
Proposed Changes to Accessibility Regulations
Tricia Smith, Deputy Clerk spoke to the proposed changes to the Customer
Service Standard Regulation and Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation

and the request for input as part of the public consultation process.
The deadline for comments and submissions is December 31, 2015.
Comments/suggestions can be forwarded to the Deputy Clerk for submission to
the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment & Infrastructure.
7.3. Ontario’s Accessibility Certification Program
Tricia Smith, Deputy Clerk made note of the development of Ontario’s
Accessibility Certification Program to recognize businesses and organizations
that have championed accessibility and the request for public input.
The deadline for comments and submissions is December 31, 2015.
Comments/suggestions can be forwarded to the Deputy Clerk for submission to
the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment & Infrastructure.
7.4 Accessibility Advisory Committee - Terms of Reference
Tricia Smith, Deputy Clerk asked the committee to review the Terms of
Reference for the 2016-2018 term and bring any recommendations for
amendments to the next meeting.
8. Next meeting
The next meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee will be March 9, 2016.
