5. Presentations/Deputations
5.1. T:GO Transit Presented by: Alex Piggot, Transit Coordinator
Alex Piggot, Transit Coordinator, provided an overview of the new fixed route T:GO transit system which was implemented on August 20, 2019. The bus will be updated to include an audio and visual GPS guided notification
system that will announce the next bus stop. According to regulation the bus
driver must announce the next bus stop if there is not an audio/visual system in place. Accessible bus shelters will be considered in the future.
As new ridership statistics are received the system may be adjusted. Complaints or concerns should be directed to transit@tillsonburg.ca.
Staff are tracking complaints.
The red line bus schedule covers the residential area in the southwest corner of Town and the blue line bus schedule covers the industrial area of Town.
The bus is wheelchair accessible and can hold up to two wheelchairs at a time.
The current style of bus requires an individual to access the chair lift at the rear of the bus. When the rear doors are open they cover the vehicles rear lights which impacts the visibility of the vehicle.
The Town will be releasing a request for tender for the in-town transit system
this fall. The current service contract ends July 2020. The request for tender will require the style of bus to include a side load wheelchair lift. The bus will be required to accommodate ten passengers. Buses
are required to meet both accessible vehicle regulation and accessible
regulation. The industry practice for the distance which a bus stop serves is a 400 metre radius.
The Town has received funding for an inter-community transit system. A request for tender will include both the in-town transit system and an inter-community transit system.
Support personnel ride for free and should not be challenged by the bus driver.

6. General Business & Reports 6.1. Goals for Term Staff to circulate aquatic facility studies as information.
Cindy A. to create an accessibility audit checklist to share with committee members who are interested in reviewing Town owned facilities. Staff to send information regarding snow and ice removal on Town sidewalks.
Include outstanding goals as an item on the next Agenda. Staff noted that business owners are required to install automatic door openers at the time of renovation.
