1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:09p.m.

Revitalization Committee Meeting Minutes of June 26, 2019, be approved.

5. Presentations/Deputations
Michelle Wegg – splash pad presentation
Michelle brought Amanda Cook and Lindsay Munroe to the meeting with her as
members of the Tillsonburg Optimist Club and the splash pad committee. An update
was provided by the committee and the fundraising for the splash pad has been put
on hold until a direction from Council on the aquatics strategy is provided. The

committee was provided with an update from the last Council meeting on the
resolution to have staff to use funds released from the aquatic facility study budget
to work with consultants in order to prepare and report back to Council with both
large and small scale options to consider for submission. The committee
recommended that lines of communication stay open between the Town and the
Optimist club in order to ensure each have awareness of the projects and timelines.
6. General Business & Reports
6.1. Hall of Fame update
The Hall of Fame event takes place on October 20th at 1:30pm – 3:30pm.
Committee members will be invited to take part in the event. The planning is well
underway – invitations will be going out next week, a donation has been provided
by Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese and the MC has been confirmed. The inductees
have all been notified.
6.2. “RZone Policy” update
The RZone Policy was passed into bylaw on the September 9, 2019 Council
meeting. User groups and staff will be informed and educated on the policy.
6.3. Signage on sports fields
Deferred to next meeting
6.4. Future of aquatics update
Chris Parker provided an update that consultants will be hired to present options
for aquatics at different levels of cost and Council will determine which option is
suitable to apply to the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s Community,
Culture and Recreation Stream 2019 funding.
6.5. Facility Allocation Policy draft review
The committee had no concerns but recommended that the draft policy be sent
to user groups for review and comment.

review and comment prior to the next Recreation & Sports Advisory Committee
meeting on October 9, 2019.

Goals were reviewed and confirmed and inclusive access to facilities and
recreation programs was added as a priority.
