5) SWEA Update -D. Samis
-D. Samis provided an update on the SWEA conference he attended.
-Possible lunch and learn or workshop with Chamber and BIA by Katie Ward who focuses on social LJ media and how to attract young adults

-Rodolfo Martinez to be invited to a future Development Committee meeting to attract young n
immigrants
6) Economic Development Update -C. Panschow
-C. Panschow gave update on economic development in Tillsonburg and reported that there are 45
leads recently for companies looking to expand or develop in Ontario
-Mr. Panschow also provided an update on the airport including reporting that there have been eight
individuals interested in new hangars at the airport
-Committee discussed taxes at airport
-Gave an update on Packet Works and rapid fibre initiative -continue to sign up customers -report
going to Council in September
-Discussed future fibre expansion including to Tillson A venue
-At next meeting Committee will discuss possible meetings with Mayors and CA Os of Tillsonburg
and Southwest Oxford regarding future development at the airport as well as tax breaks.
7) Strategic Plan RFP -D. Calder
-D. Calder provided report that will be presented to Council on Monday. August 12th regarding the
RFP for Tillsonburg's Strategic Plan
-Upon Council's approval, RFP process will begin
RESOLVE THAT the Committee recommends that Council hire a consultant to assist in a Strategic
Plan for Tillsonburg. (-_\

8) Residential Marketing Update -D. Samis
-D. Samis discussed current initiatives including Marketing ad placed in New Home and Condo
magazine, Kiosks at Community Centre and Station Arts and the truck ads
-An update report will go to Council in September
-Colleen Pepper will present at the Committee meeting in September
9) County CIP -D. Samis
-Draft County Community Improvement Plan was provided to Committee for review
-County will mirror Tillsonburg' s current Community Improvement Plans
-Committee to review and provide comments to David Sarnis
-Document be brought back at September meeting for further review
10) Subdivision Approval -D. Samis
-The first meeting was conducted two weeks ago to discuss the subdivision process
-The committee is looking for external feedback
-The committee will review process, make necessary changes and develop a USB for developers to
have upon inquiry

-Hired realtor to look for office space
12) BIA Update -C. Tomico
-Fa~ade improvement program underway with twenty-one properties that are currently interested
-Wi-fi up and running -Titled as ShopTillsonburg
-Turtlefest was a success with attendance well over 10 000 during two day event
-Next year Turtlefest will be June 13 th-14'\ 2014
-Sidewalk sale -August 15, 16, 17th
