RECOMMENDATION
THAT Report RCP 21-25, Rogers Media - Community Event – Letter of Agreement, be
received as information; and
THAT The Mayor and Clerk be hereby authorized to execute the Letter of Agreement
(LOA); and
THAT a detailed staff report outlining the event be presented to Council at an upcoming

BACKGROUND
In late August 2021, Rogers Media approached Town staff with a proposal for a
community event to occur in February 2022. As the first step in the proposed
partnership, a Letter of Agreement (LOA) is required to be signed by the Mayor and
Clerk.
DISCUSSION
The Director of Recreation, Culture and Parks has reviewed the LOA and are
recommending that the Mayor and Clerk can proceed to execute the document. This
will be the first step in confirming that the Town is in support of the event. Once the
document is finalized, Rogers Media will make a formal announceme nt that will outline
the event in detail. A comprehensive staff report will then be brought back to Council
outlining various recommendations and financial commitments that will form part of the
2022 Operating Budget.
