5. General Business and Reports
5.1. Parks Review – repairs and maintenance – the summary of all the work
accomplished was discussed at the unofficial meeting last month and contained
in the notes, were circulated. This is a report card of sorts for the
accomplishments of the committee and the staff over the past year. Additionally,
the trees grown in the Rotary Club nursery are ready for replanting. These 30
trees will be planted throughout Memorial Park and the Community Centre areas
this month. The remaining Canada 150 trees will be planted in Coronation Park.
Resolution #2
Moved by: Sue Saelens
Seconded by: Barb Wareing
THAT the list of accomplishments of the committee and staff be highlighted and
included in the minutes to be recognized by Council.
Carried
5.2. Beautification Needs – increased budgets, additional areas – one of
challenges is the pressures to reduce the budget for the next year. Perhaps a
more focused and targeted approach should be considered to convey the
beautification needs to Council. The Tillsonburg Community Strategic Plan
provided community feedback which includes the desire and expectation for a
liveable and beautiful town. Councillor Esseltine brought up that the Oxford
Parkette with regards to Christmas decorating and fountain maintenance was
raised again. Perhaps for future years, the BIA representative could be invited to
a committee meeting for idea exchange and planning.
5.3. Cemetery Review – repairs, maintenance and signage – the committee
members commented and expressed delight that the cemetery is looking lovely
with all the maintenance work and new plantings the staff have done.

have the technology for hybrid model. The committee discussed the advisory
committee composition for 2022 to be further review at the next meeting.
