DELEGATIONS
4. Residents of North Street East RE: Storm Drainage Problems
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Jackie Nigh and Mr. and Mrs. Brent and Loretta Howey, were
present and filed the attached documents with respect to their concerns relative to
drainage issues on North Street.
Correspondence from Mr. and Mrs. Nigh... Nigh.pdf
It,
Correspondence from Mr. and Mrs. Howey... Howey.pdf
Mr. Nigh presented their concerns to Council and staff, provided photos, and answered
questions.
The CAO recalled that a drainage report had been prepared a number of years ago,
approximately 1985, at the request of a petition at that time. He suggested staff review
the design work that was done at that time, as well as review the current situation, and
see if there is short-term remedial work that can be done. The ultimate resolution will
result when the lands to the north are developed into residential, and the developer will be
required to develop an elaborate stormwater management plan. He added that the
property isn't being used the same agriculturally, as it had been in the past, and that may
have exasperated the situation.
The following resolution was passed.
