5. General Business and Reports
5.1. Recreation programs and services survey review – Andrea shared the proposed
survey to be posted online for community feedback about the recreation services
and programming. It will also be promoted in the newspaper. Committee
members like the survey, especially coming out of Covid, to get better idea on
what people are looking for at this time. Suggestion was made to include
questions on trails and facilities. Scott posed questions about installing lights
along the TCT between Tillson Ave and Quarterline Rd. as more people are
using it since it has been paved. Chris Parker indicated that the results will be
presented to council and also provided to the committee for review ahead of
council presentation.
5.2. Hall of Fame update – Andrea connected with the Clerks department, and it
appears that any subcommittee must to be appointed by council, have TORs
and mandate. This was questioned by members as it has not been done in the
past. Andrea has read the appropriate section of the policy. The committee
decided to undertake the selection for this event, instead creating subcommittee.
At the next agenda the committee will review the process for application, criteria
and decide on proposed date for the event.
Resolution #2
Moved by: Scott Gooding
Seconded by: Taylor Campbell
THAT the sports and recreation committee requests staff to bring the Sports Hall
of Fame program criteria and application for review at the next meeting.
Carried.
5.3. Disc golf – with the construction at Coronation Park the number of baskets has
been reduced and some users are questioning whether it will be put back to 18
holes once construction is done. Members noted that it is an affordable
recreational options for users. Chris would like to invite some of the users and
groups for further discussion.
5.4. General discussion – the splash pad project is on track and ball diamonds will

Annandale diamond lighting was brought up, Chris Parker expects to see it in
the 2023 budget for updates and lighting. He also mentioned the possibility of
building new diamonds and selling the current lands. An update to the Master
Plan will address all the facilities and parks/trails and upgrades to these;
Members also would like to see lights at the tennis courts to extend playing
times; Susie asked about the playground replacement program and list of the
