MINUTES of Council of the Municipal Council of the Town of Tillsonburg held Monday, January
8th, 1990 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Municipal offices, Tillsonburg, Ontario.

A. Appointment of Acting Mayor
Moved by Councillor R. Miggens
Seconded by Councillor C. O'Neil AND RESOLVED THAT in. the absence of Mayor
Ferrie,
Councillor Battin be appointed acting Mayor for the purpose of chairing the Council
meeting.

Seconded by Councillor F. Welsh AND RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of Council under
date of
December 11th and 12th, 1989 be adopted as printed and circulated as amended.

Seconded by Councillor C. O'Neil AND RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg
go on record as opposing the proposed legislation by the Ministry of Transportation
to allow an increase to the length of trucks and trailers.
RESOLVED FURTHER THAT the Minister of Transportation and Mr. Gordon Miller, M.P.P.
of Norfolk be advised of the Municipality's position on this matter.

Seconded by Councillor F. Welsh AND RESOLVED THAT whereas the lands of Mr. Joseph Redling
located south of C.N.R. currently cash -cropped and are scheduled for industrial
development, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg hereby requests
an exemption from fencing along the Van Norman Industrial Park Municipal Drain as this
exemption will facilitate ditch clean-out and maintenance work on the Van Norman
Industrial Park Municipal Drain. _

of Kin Clubs for a message of support in it's national publication - Kin Magazine not
be approved.

Seconded by Councillor C. O'Neil AND RESOLVED THAT the request of John D. Kapusta to
purchase part of Second Street be referred to the Special and Property Committee. I

Seconded by Councillor M. Chesterman AND RESOLVED THAT Resolution supporting the
establishment of a Tripartite Commission be amended by adding:
"RESOLVED FURTHER THAT until a Tripartite Commission is established, a Moratorium on
the implementation of a Goods and Services Tax be supported by this Council."
