7.1 Tillsonburg Volunteer Achievement Award Presentation
Carrie Lewis, Chair of the Culture, Heritage and Special Awards Advisory
Committee presented the Volunteer Achievement Award to Rita Van
Lamoen.
8. Public Meetings
8.1 Application for Zone Change- ZN 7-22-09 – Robertson
Eric Gilbert, Senior Planner, County of Oxford provided an overview of the
zone change application. The applicant, Robert Robertson, spoke in
favour of the application. Opportunity was provided for members of
Council to ask questions. There were by-law concerns raised regarding an
illegal pet breeding business taking place at this location.
Dave and Deb Metselaar, 103 Queen Street, spoke in opposition to the
application.

THAT Council of the Town of Tillsonburg approve-in-principle, the zone
change application submitted by Robert Robertson, whereby the lands
described as Lot 493, Plan 500, in the Town of Tillsonburg known
municipally as 105 Queen Street are to be rezoned from ‘Low Density
Residential Type 1 Zone (R1)’ to ‘Low Density Residential Type 1
Converted Dwelling Zone (R1-C)’ to facilitate the development of a
converted dwelling.

8.2 Application for Zone Change ZN 7-22-11-Alex & Kayla Fick
Eric Gilbert, Senior Planner, County of Oxford provided an overview of the
zone change application.
The applicant, Alex Fick, was in attendance and spoke in favour of the
application. There were no persons present in opposition to the
application. Opportunity was provided for members of Council to ask
questions.

THAT the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg approve-in-principle the zone
change application submitted by Alex and Kayla Fick, whereby the lands
described as Lot 1290, Plan 500, in the Town of Tillsonburg known
municipally as 14 Tillson Avenue are to be rezoned from ‘Low Density
Residential Type 1 Zone (R1)’ to ‘Special Low Density Residential Type 1
Zone (R1-sp)’ to permit a physiotherapy business as a home occupation,
with three employees within an existing detached accessory building.

developing street names in the future.

sewer costs for Tanager Drive and Falcon Road.

Sewer Project) be received as information;
AND THAT The Council of the Town of Tillsonburg recognize that a lack
of communication persisted throughout this project which took place
during covid lockdowns. Flyers and information were not received and
virtual meetings were not accessible by all;
AND THAT the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg would respectfully
request the County of Oxford re-evaluate the fees and communication
process for reasons sited in this presentation;
AND THAT this resolution be forwarded to the County of Oxford for
consideration.

beginning of the new term of council in November.

needs of the Town of Tillsonburg in accordance with Bylaw 2021-
031 (land disposition) including suitable notification to the public;
