Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 2:02 p.m. 2. Adoption of Agenda Resolution #1 Moved by: Margaret McCrimmon Seconded by: Mike Cerna THAT the Agenda as prepared for the Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting of September 13, 2022, be adopted. Carried 3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting Page 2 of 4 Resolution #2 Moved by: Margaret McCrimmon Seconded by: Mike Cerna THAT the minutes as prepared for the Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting of March 8, 2022, March 24, 2022 and June 14, 2022 be adopted, as amended. Carried 4. Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest declared. Mark Dickson joined the meeting at 2:07 p.m. 5. Presentations 5.1. Community Centre Improvements Presentation- Alicia Lesniak A+ Link Architecture Julie Columbus noted that the issues presented regarding the large grate and the uneven ground at the splash pad location are being addressed. Alicia Lesniak, Architect with A+ Link Architecture provided an overview of the proposed site plan for improvements at the Community Centre aquatics facility. Opportunity was provided for members to ask questions and provide suggestions. The Committee will follow up with a recommended option. Alicia Lesniak and Julie Columbus left the meeting at 2:50 p.m. 6. Closed Session Resolution #3 Moved by: Councillor Luciani Seconded by: Margaret McCrimmon Page 3 of 4 THAT the Accessibility Advisory Committee moves into closed session to consider a personal matter about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees; under Section 239 (2)(b) of the Municipal Act. Carried 7. General Business and Reports 7.1. Terms of Reference- Laura Pickersgill The Committee reviewed the revised Terms of Reference. It was suggested that by-law be included as a member. It was suggested that Community Living be added in the membership. It was suggested that a member of the Accessibility Committee remain on the Transit Advisory Committee. 7.2. Oxford Joint Accessibility Meeting Date Laura to communicate the date to the Committee. 7.3. Indoor/Outdoor Audits Staff will review what direction these audits can take. 7.4. Updates 7.4.1. Kinsmen Bridge Report Opportunity was provided for members to ask questions regarding the report. There will a public consultation held on September 30th. Staff will continue regular maintenance and inspection of the existing bridge until replacement. A question was raised about the status of the existing sign. Staff to inquire with the Parks and Recreation Department on this. 7.4.2. Heritage Status- Report CS 22-02 Laura to add this report to the next agenda. 7.4.3. Town Website Update The new website will be going live by the end of September. 7.4.4. Town Hall Expansion Update Laura provided an overview on the latest direction from Council regarding the Town Hall project. It was discussed that an environmental consultant is in the process of digging boreholes in the parking lot on the corner of Brock and Harvey Streets. It was noted that the results of this testing will provide Page 4 of 4 more information for staff to provide a recommendation to Council. 7.4.5. Sidewalk Discussion There was discussion regarding slopes and their compliance with AODA. There was a discussion regarding the gutters in Hickory Hills. It was noted that public works is reviewing asphalt repair in sidewalk cracks before the full curb is replaced. Staff are aware of the sidewalk issues on Quarter Town Line. It was noted that the sidewalk has been repainted by South Ridge School. The annual sidewalk condition assessment is taking place next week. There were concerns noted regarding broken off curb cut pieces. There were concerns noted regarding snow removal in the school zones in a timely manner. Richard Sparham and Shayne Reitsma left at 3:35 p.m. 7.4.6. Draft Social and Networking Accessibility Advisory Committee Proposal Moved by: Mike Cerna Seconded by: Margaret McCrimmon THAT the Accessibility Advisory Committee endorses the concept of a Social and Networking Accessibility Advisory Committee. Carried 8. Round Table 9. Next Meeting December 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. 10.
