7.1 Andrea Greenway, Recreation Programs & Services Manager RE:
Museum Updates
Andrea Greenway sent her regrets and the following written update
regarding the Museum:
Recap of March
Staff worked on creating displays in Annandale NHS for the Spring
Season: notably Hat Exhibition in the Quarter Ceiling Room and
Bathroom Exhibition in the Restored Bathroom
Attendance for the month was 633, which included 1 bus tours and
2 room rentals. This number is an increase over March of 2023,
which had an attendance number of 550 visitors.
Museum was hosted the following events:
1. Women’s Day Herb and Flower Luncheon (March 8th)- Full House
at 36 people
2. March Break Camp (March 11th to 15th)- Average of 8-12 kids a day
3. Lunch and Learn Series: Tobacco in Tillsonburg- Full House on
Thursday (36) and 30 on Friday
4. Patty’s Retirement Party (March 28th): Approximately 150-200
people
Museum was closed for Easter weekend from Friday, March 29
through Monday, April 1
Up-coming in April
Spring Bird House Workshop on Wednesday, April 17th: Happening
this evening

We have a 30 person bus tour coming from Brantford on April 24th
Lunch and Learns this month, happening on April 25, and April 26th
on the topic of “We Moved 35 Years Ago: The Restoration of
Annandale House.” We have 55 people signed up over both days.
This presentation is being done by local historian Laurel Beechey
Our Exhibition “Warmth and Beauty: Our Favourite Quilts from the
Collection” closed Sunday, April 28th
We have 2 room bookings this month: April 15th, April 27th and April
28th
Up-coming in May
Mommy and Me Tea Party (Starting at 1 p.m.) on May 11th- Still
Spaces
Summer Students: Kenize and Larissa Start on May 13th
Victorian Cross Stitching Workshop on May 15th- Still Spaces
Home School Programming booked for May 21st and 22nd
Lunch and Learns this month, happening on April 25, and April 26th
on the topic of “Life on Lake Lisgar.” We have 50 people signed up
over both days.
New Exhibition: “Main Street Oxford,” opens on Sunday, May 26th
at 1pm
We will be close the Victoria Day Weekend (May 18th to 20th)
7.2 Tabitha Verbuyst, Executive Director/Curator RE: Station Arts Centre
Updates
Tabitha Verbuyst sent her regrets and the following written update:
- This Saturday is the Spring into Art Market opening day (10-2pm) We will
have live music/entertainment, kids activities, and our amazing artistic
vendors to shop. The Turtle from Turtlefest will also be there.
- The Oxford Studio Tour is May 4th and 5th from 10-5pm, we have 24
artists across Oxford County and it's free to tour and meet the local talent.
The Station will be hosting 5 artists.
- Big Cheese days will be starting May 4th and will be every Saturday in
May from 9-12pm. We will be allowing families to contribute to a fun and

creative art installation on our property by painting rocks and leaving them
for all to enjoy - all materials provided.
- Summer camps launched and we have some spots left for the older kids
(7-12), and our PA day program has a few spots left for May 31st.
7.3 Founder's Day
The following ideas were discussed during the planning for Founder's Day:
Founder's day to be set for the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Carrie is waiting to hear back from the community centre and the
person who runs the forge for a re-enactment
An email will sent to service groups to see if anyone wants to help
volunteer
Everyone on the committee to reach out and make phone calls to
people in the community to help with the event
Should be some activities for kids to enjoy during the day as well
Other ideas for activities included:
o log cutting competition
o displays of agricultural and land clearing equipment
o wool spinning demonstration
o photobooth
o wagon rides
7.4 Selection of Location for Northcrest Parks Names

Council that Doug Wilson Park be chosen as the park name for

Northcrest Phase II.

7.5 Previous Committee Terms of Reference
Focus is distributed among four different topics for this committee. The
committee feels that the sense of culture has been lost. It is the role of the
committee to advise Council.
