POLICY STATEMENT
The Council for the Town of Tillsonburg identify that there is a need to provide a policy
for the return of application fees for planning applications after the application has been
received.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Refund of Fees Policy is to establish procedures for returning
application fees after receipt but prior to approval.
SCOPE
This policy applies to applicants and staff with respect to providing refunds for Planning
Application Fees.
GENERAL
This policy shall be administered by the Development & Communications Department.
This policy shall be referred to as the "Return of Fees Policy".
This policy comes into force and effect on the date adopted.

AUTHORITY
The authority for the Return of Fees Policy shall be by the approval of the Council of the
Town of Tillsonburg.
IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURE
1. Refund of fees:
If an application is withdrawn prior to
circulation to commenting agencies
75% of the fee may be refunded
If an application is withdrawn after
circulation
to commenting agencies but prior to notice
being mailed or prior to the approval
authority
considering the application
50% of the fee may be refunded
If an application is withdrawn after notice of
the receipt of application and or notice of
the
public meeting being mailed or advertised,
but prior to the Staff report being
prepared
25% of the fee may be
refunded. After this point no
funds shall be returned
2. In addition, any payments outstanding to the Town shall be deducted from the
Application Fee by the Director of Finance prior to the refund being issued by the
Director of Finance.
