Carried Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest None Approval of Previous Minutes Resolution #2 Moved by: John Armstrong Seconded by: Mary Anne VanGeertruyde  THAT the Special Awards Committee Minutes dated June 5, 2018 be approved. Carried Pending Business from Previous Meetings Citizen of the Year Debrief Citizen of the Year pins were successful and should be implemented into future years. Videotaping the event may not be a wish for all recipients. Discussion was held in regards to whether or not mentioning the other nominees at the Citizen of the Year. 5.2 Favourite Son/Daughter Recognition The Committee does not seek out nominees but will accept nominations then provide any recommendations to Council. General Business and Reports Volunteer Achievement Awards There are no nominations currently. Advertise Nomination Process Staff to follow up with the Marketing Department to have a section committed once a month to the Volunteer of the Month and the nomination process. Committee Vacancy Applications Members were reminded to be aware that Council Committee vacancy applications will be advertised in the newspaper in November 2018. Community Update Volunteer of the Month and the nomination process should be recognized in the Community Update section of the Tillsonburg newspaper on a monthly basis.
