These plaques, the centennial project of the Salford Women's Institute, commemorate two important
ladies in the community's past, Lydia Chase Ranney, a pioneer school teacher and maker of the first
cheddar cheese in Canada, and Aimee Semple McPherson, evangelist and founder of Angelus
Temple in Los Angeles, California.
