TILIZONBURG — The postal
department at Ottawa has put
a deadline on the installation of
receptacles for home mail de-.
livery in the town of Tillson-
burg.
A letter received yesterday by
Kenneth Gagnon, town post-
master, stated that unless 80 per
cent of the homes have the ne-
cessary facilities by Oct. 15,
mail carrier service wit be de-
layed until next year.
As well as setting a definite
date for the installation of fa-
cilities, the postal department
also', met a definite date to start
delivery. If the requirements
are met, delivery will start Get.

All residences must be pro-
vided with a mail receptacle
preferably In the form of a slot
In the front door or a suitable
mailbox fastened on or near the
aide of the doorway.
The receptacle must be easily
accessible to the mall carrier at
all timed

or adjacent to the street line of
their property.
Apartment houses must have
an approved type of apartment
mailbox system.
A survey conducted last week
by the postal department
showed that less than 10 per
cent of the 2.036 houses had '
met the requirements.
