2986 To set regulations for the preventing fires and to repeal By-Law 1917CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF TILLSONBURG BY-LAW NO., 2986 BEING A BY-LAW TO SET REGULATIONS FOR PREVENTING FIRES AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW 1917, WHEREAS Section 210(49) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O., Chapter M.45, as amended provides authority for municipalities to set regulations for preventing fires and the spread of fires as the council considers necessary. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg is desirous of prohibiting barbeques or open burning of any kind on balconies of buildings. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg had previously enacted by By-law 1.917 to set out regulations for preventing fires and the spread of fires. NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF TILLSONBURG ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT the use of barbeques and/or opening burning of any kind shall be prohibited on balconies of buildings within the Town of Tillsonburg. 2, THAT any person who contravenes any provision of this by-law Is, upon conviction, is guilty of an offence and is liable to a penalty as provided in the Provincial Offences Act. 3. THAT each violation of this by-law shall constitute a separate and distinct offence under this by-law. 4. THAT this By-law becomes effective on the date of passing and By-law No. 1917 be hereby repealed. READ A FIRST, SECOND this 9th day of October, 2001.
