3656 To provide the Clerk and designate with authority to solemize marriagesTHE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF TILLSONBURG
BY-LAW NUMBER 3656
WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 285/04 provides the Clerk or designate of a local
municipality with the authority to solemnize marriages under the authority of a licence;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg considers it
desirable to have civil marriage solemnization services performed;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg enacts
as follows:
1. That the Council for the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg hereby directs
that the service of civil marriage solemnization be implemented;
2. That the Council for the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg recognizes that
the Clerk or designate, is authorized to solemnize marriages, as set out under
Ontario Regulation 285/04 and the Marriage Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M. 3 for
the Province of Ontario;
3. That the fee structure for services shall be set out in the Town of Tillsonburg
Rates & Fees By-law;
