BY-LAW NUMBER 3423
A BY-LAW to appoint a Chief Building Official for the Town of Tillsonburg.
WHEREAS it is necessary and expedient to appoint a Chief Building Official for the
Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg;
AND WHEREAS section 3 of the Building Code Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, c. 23, provides for the
appointment of a Chief Building Official and Inspectors, and section 77 of the Legislation Act,
200611 S.O. 2006, c. 21, Schedule F, provides for the appointment of Deputies;
AND WHEREAS it is necessary to repeal by-law number 3160;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Tillsonburg as follows:
1. THAT Geno A. Vanhaelewyn, be hereby appointed Chief Building Official pursuant to
Section 3 (2) of the Building Code Act, S.O. 1992, Chapter C. 23.
2. THAI" Geno A. Vanhaelewyn is also appointed Property Standards Officer for the
purpose of administering the Town's Property Standards By-law as amended from time
to time;
3. 'THAT Geno A. Vanhaelewyn is appointed Provincial Offences Officer pursuant to the
Provincial Offences Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P. 33 for the purpose of enforcing the
Town of Tillsonburg By-laws and related Provincial Statutes and Regulations;
4. ANY previously enacted By-laws that inconsistent with the purpose and intent of this by-
law are hereby repealed, specifically by-law 3160 is hereby repealed.
5. THAT Bill Knifton, be hereby appointed Deputy Chief Building Official pursuant to
section 3 (2) of the Building Code Act, S.O. 1992, Chapter C. 23;
6. 'THAT Bill Knifton is also hereby appointed Deputy Property Standards Officer for the
purpose of administering the Town's Property Standards By-law as amended from time
to time.
7. THAT Bill Knifton is appointed Provincial Offenses Officer pursuant to the Provincial
Offences Act,, R. S.O. 1990, Chapter P. 33, for the purpose of enforcing Town of
Tillsonburg By-laws and related Provincial Statutes and Regulations.

8. ANY previously enacted By-laws that are inconsistent with the purpose and intent of the
By-law are hereby repealed, specifically By-law 3160 is hereby repealed
9. 'THIS by-law shall come into full force and effect on May 3, 2010.
