Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:30pm, by Co-chair Mel Getty. 2. Carried. 3. Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest declared. 4. Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting 4.1. Minutes of the Meeting of May 1, 2018 Moved By: Ken Patterson Seconded By: Jane Ann McLean Resolution #2_ THAT the Minutes of the Memorial Park Revitalization Committee Meeting of May 1, 2018 be approved. Carried. The Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg Memorial Park Revitalization Committee May 28, 2018 4:30pm Annex 200 Broadway. MINUTES Memorial Park Revitalization Committee Meeting Minutes, May 28, 2018 - 2 - 5. General Business & Reports 5.1. Staff update – ramp on bandshell has been installed. Curtain rails are ready to go up. Water park slide very unlikely to be usable this summer following more damage findings. Pool renovations on schedule to open July 1st. 5.2. Signage review: as per attached document, #3 was deemed the most visible, additionally the committee members would like: - Entire wall to be painted, not just half - Sign made with reflective material - Any material that would withstand graffiti? - Possible light to illuminate the sign 5.3. Master Plan priorities review: re-sorted document shows that highest priority overall is the parking around the Memorial Park. 5.4. Member updates: 1. Outdoor rink: in the new plan, the boards will be full size for the winter months and removed for the summer to create open look. Waiting on site plan approval. 2. Rotary Club: Two accessible swing sets have been installed near the tennis courts. The following items have been completed: - Trimming bottoms of the trees - Place mulch around trees and raise memorial stones - Removal of debris from Lisgar Ave to tennis courts - Sweep tennis courts Remaining items: - Tennis courts – finish – in progress - Removal of debris in rest of the park and around parking lot – in progress - Remove patio stones and create new pathways to tennis courts - Trail around the park - Exercise equipment installation around the park, along trail 3. Fair Board: renovation rather than replacement of fairboard buildings and plan for a new building per attached document. If the poultry barn is demolished, will need another animal building. Projected price for the renovations to be presented in a month or so. Fundraising scheduled for fair. 4. Lake Lisgar Revitalization Project: the barge is no longer working, town council did not give any money for dredging. Researching used barges at cost $3,000 to Memorial Park Revitalization Committee Meeting Minutes, May 28, 2018 - 3 - $4,000. The group is going to approach the council again for funds to dredge Cranberry pond. 5. Other: Historical Society is going to take on project of fixing the entrance pillars around the park; also applying for grant to have a Heritage plaque installed on the site of horse track. 6. Next Meeting The next meeting of the Memorial Park Revitalization Committee will be on Monday June 18, 2018 at 4:30pm – at the Annex, Corporate Office. 7.
