A BY-LAW to adopt a Municipal Investment Policy for the Town of Tillsonburg.
WHEREAS under Section 8. (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 , S.O., 2001, c.25 , as
amended, the powers of a municipality under this or any other Act shall be interpreted
broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to
govern its affairs as it considers appropriate and to enhance the municipality's ability to
respond to municipal issues.
AND WHEREAS under Section 7. (1) of Ontario Regulation 438/97, before a
municipality invests in a security prescribed under this Regulation, the council of the
municipality shall , if it has not already done so, adopt a statement of the municipality's
investment policies and goals.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg is desirous
of adopting a Municipal Investment Policy.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
TILLSONBURG ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the Tillsonburg Investment Policy attached hereto as "Schedule A" is
hereby adopted and forms part of this by-law.
2. This By-Law shall come into full force and take effect upon the final passing
hereof.
