BY-LAW 2021-020
A BY-LAW to appoint a Deputy Treasurer.
WHEREAS section 286 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. C 25 provides that a
municipality shall appoint a treasurer who is responsible for handling all of the financial
affairs of the municipality on behalf of and in the manner directed by the council of the
municipality;
AND WHEREAS section 286 (2) of th e Municipal Act , 2001 , S.O . C 25 provides that a
mun icipa lity shall appoint a deputy treasurer who shall have all the powers and duties of
th e treasurer;
AND WHEREAS The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg deems it is
necessary and expedient to appoint a Deputy Treasu rer for the Corporation of the Town
of Tillsonburg ;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Tillsonburg as follows:
1 . THAT Cheyne Sarafinchin is hereby appointed as Deputy Treasu rer for The
Co rporation of the Town of Tillsonburg ;
2 . THAT thi s By-Law is passed pursuant to the Section 286 of th e Muni cipa l Act,
2001 S .O. 2001 , Chapter 25.;
3. THAT th is By-Law sha ll come into full force and effect upon passing .
