MINUTES.OF THE MEETING OF November 8th, 1990.

1. Appointment of 1991 Chairman
Moved by Gary Chamberlain, Seconded by W. Kleer:
"THAT J. Armstrong be appointed Chairman of the 1990
Experience Tillsonburg Committee."
CARRIED.
2. Review of 1991 Draft Proposal
The media agreed to work together in 1991 to set the
price, format and dates of the ads and make a
recommendation to the overall committee. They agreed
to split the production work equally and to divide
the town, for sales purposes, differently.
The events as proposed were discussed. P. Flint
advised that the dates of August 16th and 23rd had
been scheduled as Carribean Days at the Mall. It was
felt by the Committee that this would be an excellent
theme for the "Experience Tillsonburg" campaign.
Suggestions for activites included:
-costume contest
-limbo contest (already scheduled for mall)
-parade
-merchants dressed appropriately
-amateur night
-ask tourist depts. of the various islands to
promote themselves
-hold an event at the Community Centre outdoor pool
-carnival
-mini-Carabana (modeled on Toronto's)
-sidewalk days
Date of next meeting --to be set by the Chairman.
The meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
