Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:33 a.m. 2. Adoption of Agenda Resolution #1 Moved by: Lisa Gilvesy Seconded by: Cedric Tomico THAT the Agenda as prepared for the Economic Development Advisory Committee meeting of May 11, 2021, be adopted. Carried 3. Adoption of Previous Minutes Resolution #2 Moved by: Lindsay Morgan-Jacko Seconded by: Councillor Deb Gilvesy THAT the Minutes as prepared for the Economic Development Advisory Committee meeting of April 13, 2021, be adopted. Carried 4. Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof There were no disclosures of pecuniary interest declared. 5. Presentations 6. General Business & Reports 6.1 Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce Awards Resolution#3 Moved by: Lisa Gilvesy Seconded by: Mayor Stephen Molnar THAT the Economic Development Advisory Committee move into Closed Session to consider: -a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other negotiations of a person, group of persons, or organization (Chamber of Commerce Event Selection). Carried Resolution #4 Moved by: Andrew Burns Seconded by: Suzanne Renken THAT Company C be selected as the recipient of the New Industrial Investment Award based on total investment amount and new or future jobs created in Tillsonburg. Carried Resolution #5 Moved by: Cedric Tomico Seconded by: Lisa Gilvesy THAT Company E be selected as the recipient of the New Commercial Investment Award based on total investment amount and new jobs created in Tillsonburg. Carried 6.2 Appointment of Committee Members Resolution #6 Moved by: Councillor Deb Gilvesy Seconded by: Lisa Gilvesy THAT the Economic Development Committee recommends to Council the appointment of the following Committee members to form part of the Affordable Housing Subcommittee: Collette Takacs, Suzanne Renken and Cedric Tomico. Carried Resolution #7 Moved by: Councillor Deb Gilvesy Seconded by: Lindsay Morgan-Jacko THAT the Economic Development Committee recommends to Council the appointment of the following Committee members to Council to form part of the Boundary Adjustment Subcommittee: Andrew Burns, Cedric Tomico and Jesse Goossens. Carried 6.3 Monthly Projects Update Cephas provided an overview of the monthly projects update. 6.4 Economic Development Strategy Action Plan & Survey Results Cephas provided a summary of the Economic Development Strategy Action Plan Survey Results. Lindsay Morgan-Jacko left the meeting at 8:53 a.m. It was suggested that this topic be moved to another Committee meeting to discuss these topics in detail. Jesse and Cephas will discuss this topic offline to determine the next steps. 6.4 Tillsonburg Hydro Inc. No new updates. 6.5 Town Hall Task Force Cephas has been working with consultants on updating the existing space needs study and valuations of existing Town properties. An employee space needs survey was conducted and has been incorporated into the updated scope of work for the space needs study consultant. 6.6 Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee The Ingersoll Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee attended the Town’s last Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee. The Committees discussed opportunities to work together. It was brought forward that the Town does not have an inventory of physicians (existing and required in the near future). It was discussed at the last meeting that the Oxford County Physician Recruitment does not have a Tillsonburg Town staff liaison on their committee and that this needs to be addressed. 6.7 Community Strategic Plan The consultant has collated the results from the public consultation processes and has presented the findings to Council. The next step is for the consultant to develop and present the key performance measure framework. 7. Community Organization Updates 7.1 Downtown Business Improvement Association There were no further comments or questions regarding the BIA report provided. 7.2 Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce Nominations for the other Awards of Excellence are encouraged by the Chamber. 7.2.1 Rapid Antigen Screening Kits The Chamber Board is meeting tomorrow to officially discuss this topic but it was noted that Chambers are now permitted to distribute rapid antigen screening kits to businesses in their communities to those who wish to participate. These can be used as a non-invasive procedure to test employees for the COVID-19 virus. 7.3 Tillsonburg District Real Estate Board There were no further comments regarding the real estate listings and statistics. 8.
