Councillor Stephenson to present the award at the April 25"' Council Meeting.
ii) Selection of Next Volunteer Achievement Awards
Nominations were reviewed.

Seconded by B.Stephenson THAT Eddie Richter be selected as the recipient of a
Volunteer Achievement Award for the month of May 2016, to be presented at the May
24, 2016 Council Meeting.

Achievement Award for the month of June 2016, to be presented at the June 27, 2016

i) Seniors' Month 2016/Senior of the Year Award
- Correspondence from Nancy Boutin regarding Nomination of Gayle Vermeersch
as Senior of the Year

The Committee reviewed the nomination received from Nancy Boutin on behalf of The
Tillsonburg Senior Centre for the Ontario Senior of the Year Award. The following
motion was passed.
Moved by B.Stephenson
Seconded by M.VanGeertruyde THAT the Special Awards Committee supports the
Tillsonburg Senior Centre's nomination of Gayle Vermeersch for the Ontario Senior of
the Year Award, and recommends that the Town of Tillsonburg submit the nomination to
the Province of Ontario accordingly.

ii) Lincoln Alexander Award
The Committee reviewed the correspondence as received from the Minister of
Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade regarding the Lincoln M. Alexander
Award.
Direction was given for the Minister's correspondence to be forwarded to the Guidance
C-� Department at Glendale High School.
Notice to be placed in the weekly Tillsonburg Update ad as well.

For future consideration, M.Scholtz suggested street naming using full names of volunteers.
