MINUTES of the Inaugural and Organizational Meeting of the
Municipal Council of the Town of Tillsonburg held Monday, December
1st, 1997 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Municipal Offices,
Tillsonburg, Ontario.
PRESENT: Mayor Cam McKnight, Councillors: I. Horton, D. Beres, B.
Carroll, S. Lamb, G. Leachman, C. Rosehart, R. Smith and
S. Molnar
ORDER OF BUSINESS:
A. Adoption of Agenda
No. 1 Moved by Deputy Mayor I. Horton
Seconded by Councillor C. Rosehart AND RESOLVED
THAT the Agenda as prepared for Council Meeting of
December 1st, 1997 be adopted as printed, with the
addition of:
C. Reports
1. County of Oxford RE: Township of Norfolk
Official Plan
2. Standing Committees
D. Mayor's Inaugural Statement

B. Oaths of Office
Mayor Cam McKnight and all Members of Town Council took their
Oaths of Office for the term 1997 to 2001 and the Clerk signed
their Declarations of Elected Office and Oath of Allegiance
under The Municipal Act.
C. Reports
1. County of Oxford RE: Township of Norfolk Official Plan
2. Standing Committees
D. Mayor's Inaucrural Statement
Mayor Cam McKnight gave an Inaugural Statement to those in
attendnace from the general public and all Members of Town
Council for the term 1997 to 2001.
E. Resolutions
No. 2 Moved by Councillor Horton
Seconded by Councillor Rosehart AND RESOLVED THAT
the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg adopt the
recommendation of the County of Oxford Department
of Planning and Development with respect to the
Township of Norfolk Official Plan, as contained in
Planning Report #97-218. Specifically, the Town
objects to the policies relating to the Norfolk
Mall, located on the outskirts of the Town of
Tillsonburg, and the Town requests notification of
any decision by the Region of Haldimand-Norfolk on
the Township of Norfolk Official Plan.

Seconded by Councillor Carroll AND RESOLVED THAT
Council confirm the appointment to Standing
Committees as previously adopted December 5th,
1994, with the exception that Councillor Molnar
will replace Councillor Welsh, until such time as
the new Standing Committees are appointed.
