• D. Eddington outlined that the budget is currently at a 6.1 percent increase, which is in effect 3.4
percent to the median residential taxpayer.
•
• This also includes $25,000 for 1 new capital works at the Community Centre.
•
• D. Eddington outlined the asset management program to Council. The program includes an annual
requirement for asset management. Asset management details are for information only at this stage.
The budget provides for a sum of dollars with no associated details in it. A further review of specific
capital will take place.
•
• Discussion was held regarding the list of assumptions for asset management.
•
• DIRECTION: The Director of Finance to compile these assumptions from all departments.
•
• Discussion was held regarding timelines.
•
• The Director of Finance reviewed the Asset Management document and 2006 Capital Budget Master
Plans.
•
• DIRECTION:
• Moved by Councillor Patenaude
• Seconded by Councillor Renaud AND RESOLVED THAT Staff be given direction to create an
additional reserve of $150,000 to get asset management started, in reserves, in the 2006 draft budget.
•
• DIRECTION:
• Staff were directed to incorporate a skateboard park into the budget.
•
• DIRECTION:
• Staff were directed to incorporate tennis courts into asset management, as a number 1 priority project.
