"Carried" PRESENTATIONS PUBLIC MEETINGS DELEGATIONS QUARTERLY REPORTS CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER > 1. Press Release - Major Storm C Media Release Storm 03 Aug 06.doc Recycling Station #2 located on the Plank Road in Tillsonburg will feature special extended hours of operation this week to assist Tillsonburg property owners with added opportunity to dispose of vegetation (tree limbs, brush, etc). The station will be open from: 7:15 a.m. through 2:45 p.m. tomorrow Friday, August 4th, and 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5th DIRECTION: Direction was given to pick up private brush only, currently piled on right-of-ways (no major tree trunks), as a result of the storm. Advertising is not required. Residents to continue to be encouraged to make us of the extended hours of operation of Recycling Station #2, and to use contractors, if applicable for clean-up and removal of major trees. 2. O.P.P. Golden Helmets Page 2 MINUTES: Meeting for the Committee "Open Council" Golden Helmets.pdf The Golden Helmets would like to perform in downtown Tillsonburg on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 5:00 p.m., in conjunction with the annual Fair. They would like to close Broadway from Bridge to Ridout from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Bridge and Ridout will be open east and west. They will be doing promotion and posting signs in order to inform people that there will be no parking in that area during that time. Following discussion, and approval of the Golden Helmets' request, the following resolution was passed No. 2 Moved by Deputy Mayor Smith Seconded by Councillor Lewis AND RESOLVED THAT, in the future, all costs associated with parades or exhibitions, where manpower of the Town of Tillsonburg is required, not necessary be charged, but be shown to the event organizers as being a contribution. Public Works - Report D-12-2006-74 RE: Simcoe Street 2-d No. 3 Moved by Councillor Renaud Seconded by Councillor Lewis AND RESOLVED THAT staff prepare a report indicating the Town's preference regarding County Road 51 - Simcoe Street, for the Council Meeting of August 21, 2006, P401 providing evidence and documentation that Option #5 of Report D-12 2006-74 is the preferred option as approved by the Council of the Town of Tillsonburg. C-1 2006-245 (Economic Strategy - Next Steps) LAZ , COOXetegy.pdf RESOLUTIONS No. 4 Moved by Councillor Renaud Seconded by Councillor Lewis AND RESOLVED THAT the Town of Tillsonburg support the City of Woodstock's initiatives for the Voluntary Black Out Day 2006, August 14th, by targeting a 4% reduction i in kwh used in all municipal facilities and by encouraging all local businesses, homeowners and industries to do the same.
