Discussion was held regarding already approved work, as well as other potential projects, if funding was approved. Already approved work on Quarterline totals about $675,000, Page 2 MINUTES: Meeting for the Committee "Open Council" being funded by an Investing in Ontario grant, and the County. The other section of work discussed would cost approximately $1.5m, with the Town's share being 113 of that. In response to a question from Councillor Rosehart, it was noted that a left turn lane could be incorporated in the Concession Street work, as 10m lanes are being recommended. Bike lanes and/or parking were also discussed, and it was noted that it would have to be one or the other, as there is not enough room for both. It was noted that it's been left with Works to review bike lanes. With respect to in-house project costs, it was noted that those costs are submitted with applications. Mayor Molnar asked if there are other things that can be included in the applications. The CAO referred Council to bullet points contained in the AMO Alert, attached. The CAO noted that, if an application is approved, funding is either given in the full amount requested, or not at all. No partial funding is ever granted. He also noted that with Building Canada, application must be made for a specific project. The next funding with allow three applications. With the Building Canada Funding, municipalities under 100,000 compete for funding; and with the Infrastructure Stimulus Funding, application is open to all. Mayor Molnar referred to the CAD's attached report, the 5 projects introduced, and the recommendation contained therein. It was suggested that the third point contained in the recommendation be separated. ,/Oft) Discussion continued with respect to the 5 projects, and other ideas for projects were also suggested. Mayor Molnar suggested Senior Management schedule a working meeting, to discuss the various projects identified. It was noted that applications are due May 1, 2009.
