The Director of Finance reviewed the attached report with Council, specifically the
expected increases in the 2010 Budget.
With respect to IFE Donations, the Director of Community Services is requested to
prepare a report, providing information with respect to donations that have been received
and donations that are outstanding. Any variances are to be identified.
When discussing grid adjustments, a question was asked regarding Family Day. The
Director of Finance reported that the costs associated with Family Day are not included in
the amount provided in the attached report. The Director noted that he is working on a
revised personnel policy for Council's consideration, which will address Family Day.
With respect to principal and interest payments, the Director of Finance clarified that for
the purpose of these discussions, we are strictly talking about the requirement from
taxation. Principal and Interest will still be in our cash flow.
Policing was discussed, including debt servicing required.
The operational variance was discussed under Economic Development.
With respect to trail maintenance, the figures provides include the Golf Course Trails and
Trans Canada Trails. It was noted that, going forward, the Town will incur operational
costs, but there is a joint agreement with the Golf Course, which will come in front of
Council, for joint usage between the Golf Course and the community. The figure provided
is the estimate of new operating costs to the municipality for its portion of the trails.
